Company Focus/Story:
Member owned driven organization envisioning a prosperous and equitable cotton industry. It promotes an environmentally friendly, financially viable and sustainable cotton sector as its mission. The Cotton Association mills and spins their own cotton and supplies other businesses in Zambia.
As income generation activities, community members were recruited and trained to weave and spin by expert weavers from Ethiopia in 2015. They have then gone on to train more members and currently there are 86 active members. All members are able to spin, weave and some have been trained in tye-dye with natural dyes.
The group are ready to produce and looking for investment in equipment so they can reach their potential.
