Company Focus/Story:
In 2007 founder Andrew had a cousin who was turning skins into leather. He was then introduced to a shoemaker who was using the skins to make slippers. Andrew began to study under this man for a month, then went off on his own - with time, he began improving his skills.
He realized that the slippers were difficult to sell during winter so he developed handbags and belts to sell as well. I was introduced to Gabriel, who used the skins to make slippers. I studied under Gabriel for a month and then started making slippers myself. In the beginning it was not perfect, but with time I started improving. In 2015, he started making shoes in 2015 and was invited to a trade fair in the Copperbelt where he realized there was a high demand for shoes - so they became his focus.
Since then, Andrew has continued to improve his craft and even studied under one of the best shoemakers from Canada.
